Twenty Seven - Reasons to be happy

Photo blog: Reasons to be happy.

1) We now have Harry the Cat living with us. I never considered myself a 'cat' person. In fact, I think this is a prime example of 'nature versus nurture'. My Dad (God love him), was a true cat-hater. Couldn't stand the things. And we were all brought up to feel pretty much the same. If we ever wanted a cat as a pet, we were given allllll the reasons why we shouldn't have one. And so, I for one, grew into an adult who was never really fussed about cats.

Until I had one.

Now, although I still wouldn't call myself a 'cat person', I absolutely love our Harry. He is gorgeous, and although he has already bitten me (my fault), he is such good company. And I find myself sitting at work thinking about hometime and being able to catch up with Harry!

AND, he has been wonderful for my Cherub, who loves Harry twice as much as I have come to love him. My Cherub has willingly taken on the role of feeding Harry each night (but refuses to do the poo-scoop, and fair enough I say, even though this means that it is ME that has to do that job!), which is giving him a real sense of achievement and responsibility. I sincerely hope that continues for us.

2) The roses that I bought with a gift voucher for Poyntons Nursery, given to me by the lovely CG and the delightful DJ, finally came into full bloom!

3) I got to have a laugh with DVS today - he's my 'old boss', and fark he makes me laugh. He got me today just as I was having a gulp of coffee....it was one of those moments where you just have to hold the coffee in your mouth, otherwise you will either choke or spray it across the room. It was unintentional on his part, but it was very farken funny.

4) I have very nearly finished my Christmas shopping. I only have four more things to buy, and they are of the smaller variety. AND, this year I have done it ALL with cash, no credit card bashing.

5) Relating to (1). There is a good chance that, having been bitten by a cat, I will turn into Catwoman soon (because that's how it happens), and will wake up one morning looking like a leather clad Michelle Pfeiffer. This makes me happy beyond belief. Watch this space, I shall let you know how it all pans out.

Anyway, that's all for now. It's Friday night and William is tucked up asleep in bed, so it's time for me to creep into his room and set the clock back an hour.

Another reason to be happy....I should get a sleep in tomorrow!

Talk another time
